Regulations
Researchers may apply to conduct a pilot study to establish the functionality of a new experimental model before initiating the main project. Additionally, the Committee may recommend that researchers conduct a pilot study prior to commencing an experimental project under review.
The number of animals allocated for a pilot study is 3 (three). This number may be increased to 5 (five) provided that a justification is submitted and approved. It should be noted that ethical rules apply fully to pilot studies; therefore, the guidelines must be read carefully. The application dossier must be prepared completely as outlined below and submitted to the Ethics Committee secretariat.

(A petition prepared by the project coordinator and addressed to the Chairmanship of the Local Ethics Committee on Animal Experiments)

(Care should be taken to use Turkish as much as possible when filling out the application form. Relevant sections of the form must be completed in full, and appropriate selections must be made for multiple-choice options. All researchers participating in the study must personally sign the designated areas in the dossier.)
3. Letter of Undertaking

4. Copy of Experimental Animal Use Certificate (Copies of certificates must be provided for all researchers who will intervene with the experimental animals for any purpose during the experiment. Researchers without a certificate are not permitted to intervene with the experimental animals.)
5. Full-text copies of 3 scientific publications related to the project (if applicable)
6. Two CDs
